Therkelsen & Sons Ltd was first established in 1975 by the first generation of Therkelsens to arrive in Canada from Denmark. Specializing mostly in tillage and hay equipment, Therkelsen & Sons Ltd. quickly established their presence in the Eastern Ontario farm equipment industry.

In the mid 1990’s, Therkelsen & Sons Ltd. broke into the tractor market. At this time, the region was dotted by farmers in the milking industry and the need for more robust farm equipment was the name of the game.

Near the end of the 90’s and early 2000’s, the movement from the traditional farm to cash crop farming began and Therkelsen& Sons Ltd. was there with the next generation of planters and mega-harvesting equipment.

We’ve seen the industry go from small square bales to the giant round bales, then to smaller round bales to the huge square bales down to the now popular medium-sized square bales. On the tillage side of things, we’ve gone from regular ploughing to ripping to deep tilling to no tilling, all the way to regular ploughing. We’ve seen it all.

Now our industry utilizes high horse power tractors with 32 row inter-plant seeders using the latest GPS equipment.

In recent years, Therkelsen & Sons Ltd. expanded into the snow removal and lawn & garden equipment areas.  From the latest Toro grass trimmers to zero-turn lawn mowers, Therkelsen & Sons Ltd. has everything for the gardening enthusiast.
